Technically-advanced Climbing and Low Stretch Ropes
Tendon offer a wide range of CE-marked rope constructions and finishes.
* All ropes offer water and abrasion resistance as standard (“Standard Treatment”).
* Optionally, Tendon ropes are available in “Complete Shield” versions. This feature is unique to Tendon ropes under the DuPont™ fabric protector licence for Teflon® nanotechnology. The yarns of sheath and core are impregnated with Teflon for additional protection against water and grit intrusion. As well as this maximum level of water resistance, “Complete Shield” also significantly extends the general lifespan of Tendon ropes.
* The “Protect Shield” version used for the 8.5mm x 30m confidence rope has the Teflon applied to the sheath only.
* The Tendon SBS braiding system is used on certain ropes whereby every strand of the sheath is braided individually, not as a pair which is normal. This creates ropes which are more wear-resistant and smoother to handle.
* Midpoint marking is standard on most Single Ropes (30-80m length).
* Special “Tendon Compact” system is used for terminating the rope ends. Core and sheath are interconnected as one to prevent sheath slip.
* The TeROM system of rope marking uses a microchip embedded in the end of the rope. The TeROM microchip holds manufacturing details specific to the rope as well as giving users the facility to add their own identification and inspection records for that rope. Utilizing a special scanner and software from Tendon, all data is transferred to a standard PC or laptop. This unique facility can be of particular value to group-users such as outdoor centres and rescue services where record-keeping is so important. TeROM is standard on certain dynamic and static ropes and as an option on most others.
* Various rope treatments are available for particular special uses. These include Tendon’s “Antistat” and “Fire Shield” finishes.
